My photograph featured by the East Brunswick Public Library!

As you may have already seen on my Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook pages, a picture I took is currently being featured by the East Brunswick Public Library, on their online gallery and I couldn't be happier to have been one of many local photographers and artists being showcased there!

The feature, titled "Always Looking Up", was taken the night of July 31, 2020, just before midnight, as I looked to close the gate to my yard - something I always forget to do!

Whenever I step outside, after the sun goes down, I've made it a habit of looking up at the night sky to see how many stars and planets are "out". On this particular night, I had gone out to close the gate and immediately noticed how crystal clear the sky was.

Being one to never take a clear night for granted, I took out my Google Pixel 4 smartphone, propped it on my gate looking out into the driveway, opened the camera app, chose the Night Sight/Astronomy setting and let it rip!

After about 4 minutes, it gave me this long-exposure photo:

Just around this time, the East Brunswick Public Library was looking for local submissions for their Adult Art Challenge to showcase on their site, with the possibility of an in-person exhibition at a later date. I took a chance and submitted the photo and the rest, as they say, is history!
